I've finally decided that when I upgrade from the Nikon D3000, I'll get the Nikon D7000. A quick comparison between the two bodies:

The D7000 can shoot 1080p at 24fps while the D3000 can't shoot videos at all.
The D7000 has 39 focus points while the D3000 has 11.
The D7000 has 9 cross type focus points while the D3000 has 1.
The D7000 can go to 6,400 ISO and the D3000 can go to 1,600 ISO.
The D7000's battery lasts 90% longer than the battery on the Nikon D3000.
The D7000 is weather sealed while the Nikon D3000 is not.
The Nikon D7000 has 2 storage slots and the Nikon D3000 has one.
The Nikon D7000's max shutter speed is 1/8000s while the Nikon D3000 is 1/4000s.

The only thing the Nikon D3000 has over the Nikon D7000 is price and size but performance wise, the D7000 is clearly better.
